In Italy, the Cultural Association of Paediatricians (ACP) has involved other groups of paediatricians and has collected 14,000 signatures on a letter asking the mayors of all Italian cities to intervene with measures aimed at decreasing motor traffic and sustainable mobility. This in the light of the numerous and undoubted scientific evidence which strongly associates air pollution with many very serious diseases and early deaths, especially in the most fragile segments of the population: children, the elderly, pregnant women.
